Noise to drown out the thoughts.

Hypnotic drones from long dead planets, skeletal soundscapes overlayed with ground shaking subs. Written mostly in late 2020, ‘Sunken Place’ takes a side step into the void following on from Yilan’s EP ‘Suddenly I Am Falling’ released on Infinite Machine earlier this year.

Crashing waves of static submerge his signature unnerving tones on ‘On Neither Side Of An Edge’, but this EP is an adventure away from the dancefloor, into dark ambient territories. The tripped out ‘Unreality’ layers organic sound design over dark waters. At moments muffled chanting gives way to tense broken electronics, decaying beyond recognition.

Elsewhere sharp and minimal interludes like ‘Sunken’ float on by, whilst 'Protect' offers much needed sonic refuge from the passages of doom. The primordial rumbles of ancient continents on ‘On Either Side Of An Edge’ provide a sci-fi-like soundtrack to a harsh and cold alien landscape.

The release marks a return for label Earth Movement, who previously released a compilation of UK bass producers explorations into emotion, texture and ambient back in 2017
